Adhesive packaging tapes

Adhesive packaging tapes are for sealing various packages. Adhesive packaging tapes are made of PP (polypropylene) and PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Although PVC based tapes are much stronger and more durable, but due to lower price, PP based tapes are used more often.

By the type of adhesive used, tapes are divided into Acrylic, Hot-melt (synthetic rubber), Solvent (natural rubber). Tapes have different widths, the most common width is48mm. Standard colours – brown and transparent, but they also may be of different colours or with a company logo.

  • Solvent or natural rubber adhesive based tapes have the best adhesive properties and most wide range of applications – this tape will perform its functions also under difficult conditions for packaging – at low or freezing temperature, moist environment – where other tapes lose their properties. Operating temperature: from -15˚C to +60˚C.
  • Hot-melt (synthetic rubber) adhesive based tapes are mainly used where acrylic adhesives are insufficient, but it is not necessary to use Solvent type of packing tape. Operating temperature: from 0˚C to +60˚C.

Acrylic adhesive based tapes have good adhesive properties at conventional and good weather conditions (at temperature above 0˚C); they are typically used where there are no exceptional requirements for packaging. During the summer, this may be the best choice. Operating temperature: from +5˚C to +60˚C.
